For Google Chrome and Chromium, you are probably a victim of Issue 1373: Navigating dark background websites results in blinding white flashes between pages. There's a hack to minimize, but not totally eliminate, your misery described in comment 261 :
Of course my web page is not perfectly optimized but still here is the fact: When testing my pages this very user unfriendly blank page flashing (whatever color it is) only experienced in Chrome. When testing in FF and IE there is no way to see any blank page between page renderings.

Apr 15, 2019 With regular Chrome was getting a random screen refreshing jerky display on some web pages that I just put down to the site itself when scrolling through long text. Sort of a shaky display as if the page was trying to reload over over which I guess is the “flashing”. And that was with PC’s display settings already same as above suggests.
